Many associations, the WPBA included, have been wondering what to do about membership fees due to the devastating effects of Covid-19.  The WPBA announced at the beginning of January that it would reduce the 2021 annual dues to from $325 to $275.  This decision was based on a desire to help the entire association to weather the crisis while maintaining the ability to resume the unity of organization as we return to some form of normalcy.  For those who have not yet paid their dues, it is not too late.  You can either send a check to the WPBA office or call Julia at 724-686-3292 to make payment arrangements.

There was a nice turnout to listen to Arricka Maxwell, owner of AIM Credit Repair as the February General Membership Meeting's guest speaker.  She covered topic's such as: where can I get my credit report, why aren't there credit scores on the report, what is a good credit score, what do I do about errors on my report, how do I make debt collectors stop calling me, should I consolidate my debts, how do I improve my scores, etc.  There were many questions fielded and some surprises with the answers.  She was well received and did an excellent job! If you were not able to attend January's meeting, click HERE to view the materials handed out at the meeting.  The 2021 Board of Directors and Officers were introduced and are as listed below.  Best wishes to the new Officers and Directors as they lead our association during these trying times.  We would also like to thank Kitty Hricenak, Board President of Westmoreland Children First  for attending the WPBA May General Membership Meeting and sharing their mission and current projects.

Are you wondering what the real reason is for the current cost of materials on your job site or home improvement project?   Are you thinking there is no way that Covid can be the only reason for the crazy cost of OSB and other wood products.  Well, you are correct!  Ed Ritenour, 84 Lumber's Director of National Accounts and Pricing was the guest speaker at last night's General Membership Meeting where he explained the multi-faceted reason for the current crazy prices of lumber.   Yes, Covid does play a roll in all of this but, weather, transportation and demand vs capacity are other factors involved.  If you were not able to attend last nights meeting, click HERE to view the materials handed out at the meeting.  We would also like to thank 84 Lumber Installed Sales for being the Corporate Sponsor for this event and the nice crowd of members and guests who attended.
